Zahars Ze "Laukinelauki"

At the art residence in Nida, 15 works were created with the desire to escape from the usual everyday and masses of people. Unexpectedly, the beginning of the series coincided with a change in the habits of the world. The protagonists of Zahar's works calmly and harmoniously connect with the rhythm of the surrounding nature, thus distancing themselves from the nervous tension of the city. The author depicts idyllic moments in which we can cool off, recover from the nervous pace of the world and restore our inner balance. The artist's observations include both urban and idyllic dreams of spending time in the countryside and nature.

​Fine wood veneers are used in the creation of the working series – birch, ash, oak, mahogany, walnut, and African wenge. Considering the unique texture and fiber direction of each tree. In his professional activity, the artist has developed a characteristic style for several years, which has promoted the artist’s recognition.

​Zahars Ze graduated from the Latvian Academy of Arts, studying functional design and graphics, gaining experience in Denmark and the Lithuanian Academy of Arts. He has held 3 solo exhibitions and participated in several group exhibitions in Latvia. In his professional career, Zahars has achieved success at several “Graffiti” festivals, continuing to implement various mural projects in the Latvian urban environment even today. At the same time, Zahars works with ceramics and porcelain, as well as as an artistic director at the Krasta Ceramics Studio. The artist experiments with different materials with reference to classical craft techniques in a contemporary solution
